The Jim Royle Drum Studio offers five Graded Percussion Ensembles, ranging from Elementary through our Advanced High School Group. The Advanced Group tours nationally, performing collegiate-level repertoire in Classical, Contemporary, Steel Drums, Ethnic, and Marching styles. The excellence of these ensembles has been well documented as they have been asked to perform at several Percussive Arts Society Chapter Days in nearby states, at many percussion festivals at area colleges in Connecticut and New York, the Connecticut Special Olympics, and for functions at churches and municipalities. The Jim Royle Drum Studio Ensemble has also performed in Disneyland and Disney World, the latter with guest artist Dave Samuels who is a jazz vibraphonist that lives in Fairfield. The Ensemble has participated in Bands Of America since 1999.
The ensembles are open to students at the Jim Royle Studio, and the fee for participation is $10.00 per student for each weekly session.
